What is Occupational Hygiene (Industrial Hygiene)?
Occupational hygiene measurements and occupational hygiene is the name given to the science that examines, detects, controls, evaluates, and supervises the disorders seen in workplaces and industrial areas, and environmental factors that cause health deterioration. It is the state of cleaning the workplace and its environment from harmful conditions depending on the nature and state of work.

Law No. 6331 on Occupational Health and Safety
According to Article 10 of the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, which came into force upon publication in the Official Gazette No. 28339 dated 30.06.2012, employers are obliged to ensure that necessary controls, measurements, examinations and investigations are carried out for determining risks to which employees are exposed in the work environment.

What Really Happens? (Current Problems)
Although equipment subject to periodic control in the occupational hygiene management process have specific periods according to regulations, there is no law, regulation or standard specifying the frequency of environmental measurements.
Risk assessment must be renewed every two, four and six years in very dangerous, dangerous and less dangerous sectors respectively. If the occupational safety expert and workplace physician consider it necessary to repeat environmental measurements during risk assessment, these measurements should be made or repeated.
